Eco-A and West Atlanta Watershed Alliance invite you to join us in a special volunteer learn/work day planting of native Native Wildflower species as part of the nature restoration of the Francis Street side of Grove Park, along the Proctor Creek corridor.
We’ll work with native plant expert Pandra Williams of Beech Hollow Farm, a native plant nursery near Athens, GA, growing a large variety of native plants from our region from locally collected seeds. Pandra also was the original founder of EcoAddendum.
In addition to helping put native wildflowers back in the landscape of Grove Park, you’ll learn tips from Pandra about best planting practices and she’ll share some of the beautiful native plants that you might be able to re-introduce back into the landscape in your yard, from hardy, “sure-thing” survivors to rarer natives requiring carefully cared-for habitat.
If we have time, we’ll also go for a short walk to view some of the special spring natives naturally growing in the adjacent park and greenspace.
Materials/tools provided, please bring gloves if you have them.
Join Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO / @VEOhero ) for a special anniversary event as they celebrate 10 years of empowering homeless veterans and their families in Georgia.
